I saw this as a 9-year old on a TV “Million Dollar Movie” rerun in New York in the 50s.. then they cut it out of all subsequent “At the Circus” reruns and it lived in my brain like vaugely recalled mushroom hallucination.. until now! Great to see this beautiful restoration!
My dad’s band sings this song! Lydia is my favorite name for a girl, and if I ever have a daughter, her name will be Lydia Josephine; I even had a dream once I had a baby daughter, and in the dream I was rocking her and singing, “Lydia, oh Lydia, oh have you met Lydia, Lydia my beautiful daughter?” It was kindof one of those “Aww” moments….. LOL!!
Oh so cute! I love this song – I get nastalgia – and I wasn’t even alive until the 80’s! I always find myself singing this song with different words all the time!!

Song <3 <3 <3
makes me smile everytime, i cant count how many times i’ve been walking down the sidewalk and found myself either humming it or singing it to myself.
One of my favorite Groucho numbers^_^
wow this is pretty funny for its time..somebody just showed me this =P. i love comedy with great musical interjections like this!
For those that said they dont make comedy like this now, maybe you didnt look hard enough. Family Guy and Flight of the Conchords are pretty funny and ingenious with the musical interjections as well =D

Agreed, that’s just pitiful.
Todays secret word is “genius”
If you haven’t found it already, just search for “Philadelphia Story” and “Virginia Weidler” and the clip should come right up.
Weidler was just great. She retired from the biz barely out of her teens. She was marvelous in “The Philadelphia Story”.
“I did it….I did it all!!”
Virginia Weidler. Her character’s name was Dinah (or Diana) in the movie.
Under what name did you find the tattooes lady in Philadelphia Story? Thanks
