Rose Tattoo – Rock ‘n’ Roll Outlaw (1978)

Music from Australia and New Zealand in the year 1978: Rose Tattoo’s promo-video for the hit single ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Outlaw’ taken from the 1978 album ‘Rose Tattoo’. This song was originally written and performed by both Angry Anderson and Billy Miller during their days in Buster Brown. After Buster Brown split in 1975, Billy moved on the form Ferrets (‘Don’t Fall In Love’ fame), whilst Angry moved on to form Rose Tattoo. He took this song with him. Sorry Angry – but one must give credit to where credit is due. en.wikipedia.org rose_tattoo ———————————– NZOZ NZOZ1978 1978 Australia Late Seventies 1970’s 1970s 70’s 70s Extended Tags: Angry Anderson, Pete Wells Musical Terms: Hard, Rock, Blues, Aussie, Old Australian Band

Rose Tattoo actually formed in 1976 – from the ashes of Buster Brown (who I believe formed a little before AC/DC, but am not sure) and Buffalo. Both bands were part of the Aussie pub rock scene, which included Billy Thorpe and Lobby Loydd. AC/DC had a place there too, but not before those that I’ve mentioned.

Most of those acts are on my nzoz1972 and nzoz1973 channels.

And you think you know more than me about Australian music, huh? They were there own band you thick-arrogant prick. They came out of the ashes of another band called Buster Brown, who sounded just like Rose Tattoo and were before AC/DC. Don’t put me down when I am presenting facts here, because I will make you look like the stuck-up arrogant prick you are. Now fuck off, coz you are pissing me and many other people off.

To the people who say these guys should have dominated the tock world, yeah in a way I agree. Thet truly are one of the greatest fucken bands on the planet. But isn’t it better to see a band like this at your local with 100 or 200 other people rather than some fucken stadium with an overblown stage show and 65000 people most of them being fucken wannbe try hards who know shit about real rock. Seriously no offence to ac/dc or there TRUE fans.

Sure… maybe to a certain extent, they may have seen opportunities through AC/DC’s success; but these guys were playing this brand of Rock ‘n’ Roll – in other varying Aussie bands – years before AC/DC’s formation…

That’s the thing I really hate about overseas Rock fans. They don’t look into what AC/DC were before the international success (a glam band with Dave Evans) and the environment that made them toughen up – Billy Thorpe and Lobby Loydd’s stomping ground. ROOTS!!!!

I really do wonder how knowledgable you are when it comes to Rock ‘n’ Roll music. Your comment reeks ignorance.

AC/DC, like Rose Tattoo, came from the Australian pub rock/Hard rock scene, which had been ignited by Lobby Loydd and Billy Thorpe (who? who?) – oh sorry, of course you wouldn’t know who he is – you probably never read a book about AC/DC.

These guys, had a history that stretch a little further than AC/DC’s (minus Bon Scott) and were playing with the toughest pubs.

Try being Australian and see your favourite local bands die a death when they try to make it overseas. I didnt put my ‘nzoz’ channels together for nothing.
